Barrel Sub-Assembly - Percussion - 50 Caliber - 3rd Variation - Original
This Thompson Center manufactured third variation octagon barrel measures 28" long not including the breech plug and is for the percussion Hawken muzzle loading rifle in 50 caliber. This sub-assembly consists of the late variation barrel with the "Hawken" marking and the rear sight hole spacing being 13/16" apart (center to center) for the 2nd variation rear sight (sold separately), late variation breech plug without the clean out screw on the right side and the late variation 1 1/16" long barrel lug. The overall condition is very good retaining 95% original blue finish with light wear and a few specks of surface rust near the nipple area. The bore is bright and rates very good with a few specks of scattered rust. (file photos)
