Federal Lightning Box of 22 LR Ammunition

This Federal Cartridge Corporation manufactured blue, gold, and white cardboard box contains all 50 rounds of Lightning high velocity 22 LR ammunition with brass cases and is in very good condition with light wear, scuffing, and possibly a spot or two of heavy scuffing on the bottom of the box. The white portions of the box have yellowed with age. The top panel features the white outlined "Lightning" and the child warning in the upper right corner. The bottom panel lists the company name "FEDERAL CARTRIDGE CORPORATION" and does not display the CIP logo. The brass casings display an "F" headstamp and have a light coating of verdigris and a few specks of tarnish present. The lubricant on the bullets has turned white with age.  (file photos)

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in 1979 and was produced until 1983.

Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # FED-13 LR-1(b) variation. The differences observed are that this box does not display gold printing and the bullets are not copper plated. This box displays the "A" style bottom.
