Peters High Velocity Box of 22 LR Ammunition

This Peters Cartridge Division manufactured blue, red and white cardboard box contains all 50 rounds of High Velocity 22 LR ammunition with nickel cases and is in very good to near excellent condition with light wear, a scratch on the back panel, and ink smudging. The white portions of the box have turned tan with age. This box displays the half circle thumb cut on the right end of the box. The nickel casings display the "PE-1" headstamp and have a light coating of tarnish present.  (file photos)

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in 1947 and was produced until circa 1960.

Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # PCC-17 LR-1(a) variation. The difference observed is that the bottom of the box does not match Huegel's. The box bottom states "to insure accuracy." near the end of the first paragraph. This box displays the half circle thumb cut and uses nickel cased ammunition.
