Winchester Super Speed Box of 22 LR Ammunition - Partial Box

This Winchester Repeating Arms Co. manufactured red, yellow, and white cardboard box contains 48 of the original 50 rounds of Super Speed 22 LR ammunition with brass cases and Kopperklad bullets and is in good condition with moderate wear and dried tape residue running around the length of the box. The white portions of the box have turned tan and small spots of the colorful layer of paper are missing from the top and right sides, likely caused by the removal of the tape. A thumb cut is present on each end of the box. The product code K2208R is printed on the front panel. The back panel displays the ownership lines "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / DIVISION OF OLIN INDUSTRIES, INC". "MADE / IN / U.S.A." is printed on both end flaps. The brass casings display the "H-10" headstamp and have a few scattered specks of tarnish present.  (file photos)

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in 1946 and was produced until 1954.

Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # WRA-17 LR-1(b) variation. The difference observed is that this box does not display yellow printing.
