Peters High Velocity Box of 22 Short Ammunition - Hollow Point - Partial Box

This Peters Cartridge Division manufactured blue, red and white cardboard box contains 17 of the original 50 rounds of High Velocity 22 Short ammunition with nickel cases and hollow point bullets and is in good condition with moderate wear, a crease in the back panel, and a dent in the bottom of the box. Three of the top corners of the box are starting to split, a 3/16" tear is present on the left edge of the top panel, the left end flap has a 3/16" split in the hinge, and the right end flap is detached, but present. The right end of the box also has some water staining present. This box displays the semi-circle thumb cut on the right end of the box. The product code "No. 2268" is printed on the front and back panels. The nickel casings display the "PE-1" headstamp and have scattered spots of tarnish present.

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in 1947 and was produced until circa 1960.

Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # PCC-17 S-4(a) variation. The differences observed are that this box displays the semi-circle thumb cut, the product code is printed on the right side of the front and back panels, and the bottom of the box does not match Huegel's due to slightly different wording. The nickel casings display the "PE-1" headstamp.
