This Stevens manufactured early variation receiver is for the model 235 hammer double shotgun in 16 gauge and is in very good condition exhibiting a brownish gray patina with honest wear and traces of original case colors in protected areas. A previous owner has etched his social security number on the right side. This is the only part on the model 235 hammer double shotgun that is tracked as a firearm therefore it will need to be transferred through a dealer. Receivers do not qualify as a C&R based on BATFE's guide lines. (file photos)
Note: The early variation model 235 hammer double shotgun has the model marking on the belly of its receiver, is void of any scroll designs but will be stamped on the left side of the receiver: "J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. / Chicopee Falls, Mass. U.S.A.".
