Savage Model 99-G Deluxe Lever Action Takedown Rifle in 250-3000 Caliber

     Here is a very nice Savage model 99-G Deluxe takedown lever action rifle in 250-3000 caliber with a 22" long round barrel having a bright, excellent bore. This rifle has serial number 333893 and would have been manufactured just prior to 1930. The metal surfaces retain about 90% original blue finish with the balance containing scattered specks of older rust staining. The lever has turned a darker brown patina with perhaps 60% of the strong original case colors remaining and stunning in the protected areas of the lever. A previous owner has etched his social security number vertically on the left rear section of the receiver. The capped and checkered pistol grip walnut butt stock and forearm rate very good having most of their original varnish finish remaining. A commonly found but faint 2" crack is located behind the tang. There are remnants of sling swivel studs once having been added. This rifle is equipped with the correct front and rear sight, bent tab style safety and the serrated steel butt plate with the SVG circular logo at the toe. The bridge of the receiver has been drilled and tapped for scope mounting and currently supports filler screws. Mechanically, this rifle functions perfectly.
