Sears Sta-Klean Box of 22 Short Ammunition - Partial Box
This Federal Cartridge Corporation / Sears, Roebuck & Co. manufactured blue, brown and white cardboard box contains 33 of the original 50 rounds of Sta-Klean 22 Short ammunition with brass cases and lead lubricated bullets and is in good condition with moderate wear, a crease in the top panel, a 1/8" split in the top, back edge, and a slight wrinkle in the right end. The right end flap is detached, but present and one end of the cardboard ammo tray has come unsealed. The top panel displays a warning paragraph that ends in "pressure and velocity." and the bottom panel features a seven line paragraph. The product code No. 300 is printed on the outside of both end flaps and the insides feature a nine line warning followed by a range warning and the company name. The brass casings display the "XR-1" headstamp and have spots of tarnish present. (file photos)
Date of Manufacture: It is not known for sure when this box was first produced, but it may have been around 1932.
Note: This box is the Huegel # SEARS-6 S-5(b) variation. This box displays the # 1 style top, the "B" style bottom, and the # 2 style end flap warning. The brass casings display the "XR-1" headstamp.
