This Remington manufactured early variation hardwood stock sub assembly is for the model M540 X Target bolt action rimfire rifle and is in very good condition with light dings and handling marks. This stock sub assembly has the near full length recess in the forearm section for an alloy accessory rail (sold separately) and the telescopic buttplate which is adjustable for height and length of pull. The butt stocks section has been shortened by about two inches and the back edge of the cheek rest has been shaved. (file photos)
