Western Bullseye Box of 22 LR Ammunition

This Western Cartridge Company manufactured off-white, yellow, blue, and red cardboard box with the circular bullseye target contains all 50 rounds of 40 grain Smokeless 22 LR ammunition with brass cases and lubricated bullets and is in near excellent condition with light shelf wear and two wrinkled corners. The off-white portions of the end flaps have turned a light tan with age. The top panel states "NON-CORROSIVE PRIMING" and displays one long dash between the words "priming" and "smokeless". The product code "K1222R" is printed on the front panel. The bottom panel displays "Made in U.S.A." in the upper, right corner and the company name and address across the bottom edge. The end flap warning reads "RANGE 1 MILE / BE CAREFUL". The brass casings display the "2-1" headstamp and have specks of tarnish present.  (file photos)

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced circa 1945.

Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # WCC-4.3B LR-1(h) variation. The differences observed are that this box displays blue printing as opposed to black and one long dash between "priming" and "smokeless" on the top panel. This box displays the "R" bottom, #4 end flap warning, and brass casings.
