Western Super-Match Mark III Box of 22 LR Ammunition

This Winchester-Western Division manufactured yellow, blue and red cardboard box with the bullseye design contains all 50 rounds of Super-Match Mark III 40 grain 22 LR ammunition with brass cases and is in very good to near excellent condition with light wear and possibly a short tear and wrinkles in one end flap. The colorful layer of paper is splitting along the bottom edge of the front panel revealing the white paper underneath. The product code "SM22LR" is printed on both end flaps. This box displays the company names "WINCHESTER-WESTERN DIVISION / OLIN MATHIESON CHEMICAL CORPORATION" on the bottom panel and the end flaps are the non-tapered style. The brass casings display the "2-1" headstamp and may have a spot of tarnish present. The lubrication on the bullets has turned white with age.  (file photos)

Date of Manufacture: This style box was introduced in 1952 and was produced until circa 1960.

Note: This box is the Huegel # WCC-51.3 LR-1(e) variation. This box displays the "O" style box bottom and the #1 style end flap. The product code "SM22LR" is printed on both end flaps.
