Winchester Model 1895 Saddle Ring Carbine in 30 Govt. 06 Caliber

     Here is a very nice Winchester model 1895 lever action saddle ring carbine in 30 Govt. 06 caliber with a 22" long round barrel having a very good bore. This carbine has serial number 405191 and would have been manufactured circa 1922. The barrel retains 97% original blue finish with light high edge wear at the muzzle. The receiver, magazine box and lever exhibit a pleasing soft brownish gray patina with perhaps 20% thinning original blue finish in the protected areas. The straight grip walnut butt stock, finger groove forearm and hand guard rate very good with just a couple dings on the right side of the butt stock and a thin crack in the forward section of the hand guard. This carbine is equipped with the ladder style rear sight, saddle ring and the trapdoor style butt plate. The front sight blade is a period King manufactured replacement. Mechanically, this carbine functions perfectly. A solid 100 year old 1895 SRC for the collector and/or investor.  {C&R}
