This Japanese issued second variation aka transitional long type bayonet and housing assembly are for the Type 44 Arisaka bolt action carbine in 6.5 caliber. The bayonet measures 17 1/2" long overall with a 15 1/4" blade. The bayonet and second variation housing exhibit a dark brown patina with traces of original blue finish, specks of older surface rust and minor pin prick pitting. The mounting screws are sold separately.
